Yes! A Staple for the Spiritual Person

This book is truly inspiring! The Twelve Steps to Spiritual Awakening by Herb K. is both a reference book and a personal guide to spiritual practices. There are hidden gems throughout the reading which call you to a deeper contemplation in all areas of life (not just for addiction). The book answers questions of how to bring someone through the 12 steps. What are the exact instructions? When do we write? What do we read and what does it mean? How to pray/contemplate? Where do you go after steps 10, 11 and 12? What does the spiritual path look like? And how do I find MY individual way to freedom? I have no doubt that the guidance that I have encountered from both the book and the man has brought me to a new place of joy that I had not known before. This book can be used as a vehicle to bring about a shift in consciousness. I read and reread it. It is a spiritual staple in my library for inspiration. Thank you Herb for your guidance. Stephen C. says Herb K. is a twelve-step spiritual giant

Not only have I read Herb's book, I was instructed how to use the concepts personally by him at a twelve-step retreat that he facilitated. He summarizes each step, including specific Big Book references, and expands upon the directions by including examples from his own life. The book can be read as a stand alone item, but to experience it fully, you should have the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous nearby. I have begun using it as a sponsorship tool, not by itself, but in conjunction with the Big Book. It has deepened my twelve step experience and allowed me to achieve new and exciting growth. If you are into the twelve steps you should check out anything Herb K. has to offer. He's got CDs out there too. In my opinion this is a must read!! Peace.

An Effective Guide to an Enriched Way of Living

Twelve Steps to Spiritual Awakening: Enlightenment for Everyone I have found this one-of-a-kind, gem of a book to be a necessary support to my quest for a higher consciousness and an enlightened way of life. Although initially nurtured in the 12-Step community, this guide is supportive of all human development endeavors.
Used in conjunction with work either directly with the author, which has been my experience, or with others also familiar with the process based on the Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book, 4th Edition -- this book provides material for contemplation & meditation, discussion and writing -- all of which I found helped open my "doors" and move beyond my "walls" to reach the unresolved and unhealed emotions, and experiences deeply nested within me for decades. I am referring to all those issues and stuff that blocked my fulfillment of a joyous and free life.
Finally, it has been my experience that this book supports work I do to have an improved life experience in all areas. Thank you Herb K!
