Horrendous copies of long loved songs

I bought this "box set" to get better CD versions of my old cassettes that I've had for many years. Instead of higher quality copies of my often played favorites, these CDs are completely butchered versions that the Amazon samples don't resemble at all. The Amazon samples almost seem to have been picked for those sections of the songs that most resemble the original versions instead of sections that represent these new bad versions. At first I wondered if the "dead" sound of the singing was a player issue. But as the songs continued, it became apparent that the cause was just a bad performance during the recording session. All the excitement and life present in those old cassettes was gone. And in many places the lyrics were totally out of synch with the music. I'm going to delete the AutoSync mp3 versions and go back to the mp3 I made from my old cassettes. Tape hiss, pops, and clicks are less disruptive to the listening experience than what's included on these CDs. The only reason I can see for all the positive reviews are from new consumers of Ray Steven's comedy and the lyrical content is fresh enough to overlook the lifeless and lackluster performance. But with past experience of how good these songs CAN sound, the way these songs DO sound on this box set is inexcusable.

This experience did appear to answer a nagging question I had when searching for CDs of my old favorites. In many cases the CD with AutoSync was cheaper than the MP3 versions alone. Now it's apparent why, to keep you from returning the horrible CD. If you do try, you will be charged an even higher price for having downloaded the mp3 AutoSync version. This purchase has made me rethink my plans to upgrade all my oldies but goodies.

EXTREMELY PLEASED & WILL LISTEN TO THIS SET TIME & AGAIN...

What a genius Ray Stevens is! This CD has so many songs, and each one is wonderful. Having misplaced the one I had ordered a few years ago, I liked it well enough to order again and add to my selection. Two of my favorites are the ones about the Shriners and "Juanita". Stevens is truly a rare American treasure, and his comedic genius is reflected in this wide variety of songs in this box set. Do not hesitate to order. Seller also rates 5 stars.

Alright, but not quite what I expected

I was excited to get this box set as I Love Ray Stevens, he is hilarious! When it arrived I listened to the whole thing "cover to cover". I was actually disappoited by how few funny songs were included which is what I was looking for. There are a few but mostly it is filled with his more serious, non humorous songs. These are still good as he is a great musical artist but just not what I was hoping for when I ordered. Some of the funny songs that where included were actually a little different than the versions originally released. I know because I have the original albums on cassette and was looking to upgrade my library (or at least a portion of it) to CD in one fell swoop. (The cassettes don't work so good any more, nor do my players) Don't get me wrong the songs are still great but just not the exact same versions that I was hoping to replace. This is a great collection that spans Ray's full spectrum. However, I was hoping to stay more on the "funny side of the street". I guess it just depends on what aspect of his career you are looking for.

The job is not easy. It can be frustrating, puzzling, and dangerous, especially when dealing with ungrateful patients. But it is also immensely rewarding for the chance to work with animals and to learn about them. Sometimes the vets are successful in treating their patients, sometimes not--but they learn.

As we follow each story, we find ourselves caring about animals and hoping for their survival. In each case we see the extent to which vets go to solve problems and to develop techniques that raise the prospect for future success in animal medicine. Each story is told with humor as the vets reveal their doubts, their frustrations, and their aha moments. An added plus is the inclusion of a photograph of each animal treated.

I have a fair number of their books, and this one is much the same as the others in which the author disparages every other spiritual teacher outside his organization as buffoons and frauds. They only want puppets, and not people who think for themselves.

Just not worth it...

I watched Trisha's channel for a little while before purchasing this book. A decision I instantly regretted and wished there was a return policy on ebooks. Over the course of time (between this book and her channel) I personally lost just lost interest in her. I know she has a lot of die-hard fans and to each their own. This is my review on the book based on watching her and reading this dribble.

The "book" - which is more like a pamphlet, lets be honest - is OK if you're 15 years old and want to spend money on your idol. Overall she does attempt to have a very positive message on self love, but at the same time she is not the 'author' to run to if you're actually looking for something that's well written and well planned out. You can easily tune into her videos on her channel for the same 'quality' as her writing. We have to remember that this "Curvy & Loving It" title is coming from someone who can go from telling you to love yourself, right to body shaming in the same breath. This is the reason why I stopped watching her videos.

This is clearly self published and clearly a means for her to bring in a quick buck. If her names on it, the 'fishies' will buy it. It brings no value to anyones life but helps her shopping addiction. This book is just her experiences in life (most of which are hard to believe being as she has a history of downright lying about her past). I think that since she's a speed-reader she couldn't grasp the fact that proper grammar and proof-reading were lacking in this "book".

After writing this one she went on to write one or two more, and we all know that there will be more on the way. So something I would recommend is that she actually consider having someone else go over the book before she attempts to publish it. It would probably help with her credibility. I think the bulk of these chapters would have been better off as blog articles, honestly. It seems like this entire thing could have been written over the course of the weekend and that's not a 'good read' in my opinion.

As a former viewer it was also hard for me to get through the book without hearing her overly nasal voice rambling on and on.

I don't recommend this unless you're actually a fan of her channel and are looking to buy it in leu of supporting her and her career. There is no real value that this book can offer the world. There are plenty of authors out there whom can give you the proper "tips and tricks" to a better life. She should really just stick to making videos.

If you like Trisha then maybe you will enjoy this book. She offers encouragement and tells stories about her past. I couldn't get past the first chapter because it was very cliched and poorly written. I don't think I'll ever finish it.

About the Author
Scott Pritchett, author of the critically acclaimed three volume series Uniforms and Insignia of the Gro�deutschland Division, capped a distinguished thirty-one year military career as the Chief of Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection, Joint Staff, J3,Pentagon. He is a graduate of the United States Army Military Academy and is a highly decorated veteran of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. For over forty years, Scott has collected German Army Panzer uniforms, insignia, photographs and documents, all which are exhibited in his, Man Cave Museum, in his home in Virginia. Beside his collection, he and his wife, Pat, have been wonderfully blessed with four fantastic adult children and a superb son-in-law.

If you are very interested in this type of jacket, this is the book to buy. It has very detailed photographs and descriptions of almost every aspect of the jacket. That includes inside and out.

Another champion from this author in the series. I have been collecting since 1975 and I have seen some of the items in this book. Great pictures of rare items, well organized, well written.
